Jesuit Social Centers

To fulfill its mission of faith and justice the Society of Jesus maintains in many countries social centers which aim to promote social justice by means of research, formation or social action.

A study of the Social Justice Secretariat of the General headquarters of the Society of Jesus in Rome provides a detailed overview over the aims, situation and work of these centers worldwide and in major world regions. The study is available in English and Spanish.

On our pages here you have access to some further information on social centers of the Society of Jesus:

1. An (incomplete) list of over 50 social institutes and similar organizations of the Society of Jesus which give some weight to (academic or non academic) research and social analysis. For each social institute you'll find a short description and a link to further information - mostly the website of the organization.
2. A searchable database with more than 350 social centers of the Society of Jesus. Again you'll find - if possible - a short description and link to further information. Most of the information is in English. But the descriptions are mostly untranslated quotes from the website of the respective center.
3. The information of the database in the format of a PDF-file, again in English or in the original language of the respective websites. (623 Kb, 96 pages.)
