- Australia:
- Uniya: Jesuit Social Justice Center. Uniya was a social justice research center which sought to respond to regional and global justice challenges. Uniya constantly aimed to develop well-researched strategies in response to structural injustice within Australia and beyond. (English, closed its doors on 31 May 2007, site continues online)
- The Ignatius Centre for Social Policy and Research is the policy and research arm of Jesuit Social Services in Australia which undertakes work in the area of public policy, advocacy and research on behalf of the Australian Province on issues of domestic human rights and social justice issues. It is currently focused on ongoing research on the geographical distribution of social disadvantage, mental health policy, drug law reform, and the criminal justice system. (English)
- Austria:
- Katholische Sozialakademie. The ksoe is an institution of the Catholic Church in Austria at the intersection of politics and education. Starting from its mission to investigate and promote the catholic social teaching and to foster its application three main areas of work developed: Social policy, political formation for adults and organization development. The ksoe stands for ethics, development and commitment, three dimensions which are present in all activities of the ksoe. (German)

the Mission of the Center for Investigation and Promotion of
Campesinos (Centro de Investigación y Promoción del
Campesinado - CIPCA) to contribute to the political, economic and
cultural empowerment of campesinos and indigenous peoples - men and
women - and out of this perspective to collaborate in the
construction of a democratic, multicultural, just and economically

- Instituto Multifuncional Cedope. The Centro de Documentação e Pesquisa (Center of Documentation and Research) was part of the Unisinos (Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos). Cedope is now incorporated into the new Instituto Humanitas Unisinos. (Portuguese)

- Le Centre Justice et Foi. Montréal. A Jesuit center of research and analysis, dedicated to the promotion of social engagement. (French)
- Jesuit Center for Social Faith and Justice. Toronto. The Jesuit Center, through social faith, promotes economic and political justice. The Center engages in social analysis and research, public education, pastoral ministry, spiritual exercises, and policy advocacy and action on issues of justice as they affect Canada and the world. - CEFOD. Centre d'Etude et de Formation pour le Développement. A center of studies and reflection since 1966, CEFOD aims at responding to the training needs of Chadian high-ranking civil servants in the economic and social sectors. (French)
- Chile:
- The University Alberto Hurtado maintains additionally to its faculties and departments mainly dedicated to teaching a Center of Ethics and a Center of Reflection and Social Action (CREAS). The Center of Ethics offers many of its publications about for instance social ethics and business ethics for download. (Spanish)
- Colombia:
- CINEP. The »Centro de Investigación y Educación Popular« is committed to the service to the poorest sectors of the population of Colombia. Its research seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the country's reality and to elaborate social, political and economic alternatives. - El Salvador:
- Instituto de Derechos Humanos de la Uca (IDHUCA). From its beginnings in August 1985 the Human Rights Institute of the Central American University has tried, given its nature as a university institution and its academic perspective, to contribute to higher levels of respect for human dignity in El Salvador. Its mission is to help the people of El Salvador to live its human rights with justice and respect. (Spanish)

- Guatemala:
- The Instituto de Investigaciones Económicas y Sociales (IDIES) is an academic unit of the University Rafael Landívar (URL) linked to the faculty of economics. IDIES' objective is to realize studies on the socioeconomic reality of Guatemala with aim to support the human development of the people of Guatemala, especially the most vulnerable and excluded. - Honduras:
- The Equipo de Reflexión, Investigación y Comunicación (ERIC) is an institution of the social apostolate of the Society of Jesus in Central America. It started 1980 to investigate and analyze the national reality in the departments of Yoro and Colón in Honduras. A few numbers of the center's journal Envio you can find online. - India:
- Behavioural Science Centre. Since its inception in 1977 the BSC has had a dual commitment to active involvement in the field/rural areas and to training and research in development issues. Primarily, BSC works with India's Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as well as with women with the goal of empowerment and poverty alleviation. The BSC has been the host to many international students and those interested in international development. (English)
The
Centre
for Development Research and Training (CENDERET) is mainly
concentrating on rural development activities in the State of
Orissa. CENDERET has come into existence 12 years ago, in October
1988, with a vision to empower the rural poor of Orissa both

- The Indian Social Institute - Bangalore, which is popularly known as ISI is a national social centre with a special focus on South India. It is committed to work for the emergence of an egalitarian social order. Therefore, the Institute focuses its attention on Socio-economic and politico-cultural issues related to the downtrodden communities of Indian society. (English)
- Indian Social Institute, Delhi. The Indian Social Institute is a Jesuit institute founded in 1951. We are basically an institute of research and action with NGOs (voluntary agencies) active among Dalits (former »untouchables«) and tribals (indigenous peoples) particularly women among them. Udayani Social Action Forum. The main objective of the
Centre is: a) To be an intellectual force fighting against the
evils of this unjust society through its research, documentation
and publication. b) To be a creative force among the rural and
urban marginalised poor through its direct grassroot involvement
and thus creating leaders who would become agents of social change.
c) To be a protest force, in collaboration with other NGOs,
challenging the prevailing values and attitudes of the unjust and
exploitative systems, such as selfish individualism, unbridled
competition and consumerism. (English)

- Institut Sosial Jakarta. The Jakarta Social Institute (ISJ) is a Non-Governmental Organization committed to the struggle for the promotion of human rights in various sectors such as urban poor communities as well as victims of state political violence. (Offline)
- Ireland:
- Center for Faith and Justice (CFJ). A center for social research and action which seeks to respond to situations of structural injustice. It is sponsored by the Irish Jesuits. (English)
- Italy:
- Centro Studi Sociali. The »Centro Studi Sociali« in Milan is a center for social studies of the Society of Jesus in Italy and together with the Arrupe Institute (Palermo) publishes the journal Aggiornamenti Sociali. (Italian)
- Istituto di Formazione Politica Pedro Arrupe. The »Pedro Arrupe Institute for Political and Social Training« runs courses which offer a postgraduate specialization program on some fundamental issues of the current political phase. The purpose of the program is to introduce the students to the critical interpretation of the social economic and political situation of Sicily. (Italian, English)

- Malta:
- The Faith and Justice Centre through seminars, study, reflection and publication tries to indicate options which bring about more social justice. Linked to the center is the Paulo Freire Institute which works in the Zejtun community, educates and organizes various activities which aim to bring the fruits of reflection to practice. - Mexico:

- Fundación Tarahumara. Foundation in support of the Tarahumaras, an indigenous nation of Mexico. (Spanish)
- The Miguel Agustín Pro Juárez Centre for Human Rights, A.C. (Centre PRODH) is a non-governmental organization that, through the defense and promotion of human rights, works towards attaining the structural conditions in society such that the people of Mexico can enjoy and exercise without discrimination their fundamental human rights. - Micronesia:
- Micronesian Seminar (MicSem) is a research-pastoral institute founded by the Catholic Church in 1972 and was officially turned over to the Jesuits of Micronesia in 1992. Its main mission is community education, although it has engaged in social and historical research. MicSem's goal is to assist the people of Micronesia in reflecting on life in their islands under the impact of change in recent years. (English)

- Peru:
CIPCA. The Center for Investigation and Promotion of
Campesinos (Centro de Investigación y Promoción del
Campesinado - CIPCA) combines direct intervention into the
promotion of development with activities of investigation,
treatment of information, debate and concertation at the regional
and national level. CIPCA tries to introduce changes in the
institutions of the regional society (state, market, local
democracy) and in its agents so that its working can integrate more
and more and creatively the marginalized populations to the

- The Instituto Etica y Desarrollo (Ethics and Development Institute) was created 1997 with the aim of supporting the formation of responsible professionals and opening a space for investigation and discussion on some of the big problems of our country. (Spanish)
- Philippines:
- The Ateneo Center for Social Policy and Public Affairs (ACSPPA) is a policy research and advocacy unit of the Ateneo de Manila University. The Center was established as the socio-political arm of the Ateneo de Manila University in April of 1986, after the downfall of the Marcos dictatorship. ACSPPA was organized to contribute to the deepening of political and economic democracy. (English)
- Through the Ateneo Research Network for Development the Ateneo de Manila University aims to contribute more directly to national development through research and outreach activities undertaken as an institution. (English)
- Environmental Science for Social Change (ESSC) primarily does national scientific and social research that contributes to a broader understanding of the environment. Central to the scientific commitment of ESSC are the values of environmental care and justice, while the community is seen as the basic unit that brings about social change. (English)
- The Institute of Philippine Culture is a social science research organization of the Ateneo de Manila University. Founded in 1960, the IPC advances the University's mission and goals by generating knowledge that helps deepen the understanding of cultures and societies; improve the quality of life of disadvantaged groups; and build a peaceful, just, and equitable society in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and the rest of the world. - The Philippines-Australia Studies Network (PASN) is a collaborative undertaking between the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines, and La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. The PASN takes off from the cooperative partnership that the Ateneo de Manila University and La Trobe University has developed in the past three years, primarily in the study and research on poverty, health, governance, and urban issues. - The Centro Social Ignacio Ellacuría realizes and disseminates a faith based analysis of social reality aiming at giving hope and motivation for active civil participation. (Spanish, Bask)
- Cristianisme i Justícia. Cristianisme i Justícia (Lluís Espinal Foundation) is a Center of Studies promoted by the Society of Jesus in Catalonia which gathers a team of lay-men and Jesuits. All the members are specialists in several human and social sciences, as well as in theology and are concerned by the practice of justice, not only at a local level but at the international one too. - The Instituto de Derechos Humanos Pedro Arrupe (Pedro Arrupe Institute of Human Rights) is situated in Bilbao and is part or the University of Deusto. The Institute was founded 1996 as answer of the university to the social demand of a critical reflection based on a culture of human rights, of peace and of a democratic society. (Spanish)

- Twomey Center for Peace through Justice. The Twomey Center for Peace Through Justice, Loyola University New Orleans, seeks to shape social justice consciousness through education, and to take action on critical social problems confronting society. The Twomey Center acts as a catalyst for research and action on critical issues of workers' rights, racism, poverty and justice. The journal »Blueprint for Social Justice« is published monthly from September through June and is available online. (English)

- Die Fundación Centro Gumilla is the center for research and action of the Society of Jesus in Venezuela. The journal SIC is partly online. (Spanish)
- Zambia:
- Jesuit Center for Theological Reflection. The mission of the Jesuit Center for Theological Reflection (JCTR) is to minister to the local church in Zambia and Malawi in the service of faith and promotion of justice, with attention to culture and dialogue, through theological reflection, research, education and advocacy. - Zimbabwe:
- Silveira House. Silveira House is a NGO development center on the outskirts of Harare, Zimbabwe, which provides training to the poor. The Center was established in 1964 in response to 'knocks on the door' from the poor seeking assistance. Today Silveira continues that tradition by providing training, extension and research services both at the Center and in the field, as well as consultancy services to partner organizations. (English.
